We’re Hiring: Process Development Engineer (ALD)

Are you excited by thin-film technology and hands-on process development? At Beneq, a global leader in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), we’re looking for a Process Development Engineer to join our Semiconductor Business Unit and help shape the next generation of ALD solutions.

In this role, you’ll work at the heart of ALD process development - planning, testing, optimizing, and validating thermal and plasma ALD processes for high-performance semiconductor applications worldwide. You’ll gain hands-on cleanroom experience, turn data into insight, and collaborate closely with experts across engineering and product teams to drive performance, scalability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, test, and optimize ALD processes in line with business needs and technology roadmaps

• Perform process validation, data analysis, and documentation of results and best practices

• Prepare work instructions, plans, and reports for internal and customer use

• Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, including new materials and methods

• Maintain ALD and metrology equipment and ensure a clean and safe cleanroom environment

What We’re Looking For

• University degree or relevant work experience (Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or similar preferred)

• 3+ years of experience in cleanroom-based process development or experimentation

• Experience in thin-film deposition or semiconductor processing; ALD experience is a plus

• Familiarity with DOE, SPC, Six Sigma, and data analysis tools (JMP preferred, Python, MATLAB, etc.)

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Fluent written and spoken English
